Final User Workshop ESA Data User Element DUE Permafrost February, 15th- 17th, 2012
The ESA Data User Element DUE Permafrost aims to establish a permafrost monitoring service based on operational remote sensing datasets. The satellite-derived products (on regional to circum-polar scales) which are specifically addressed are land surface temperature, surface soil moisture, surface frozen/thawed state, surface waters, terrain (elevation and subsidence), and land cover. The project team consists of scientists from Austria, Canada, Germany and Switzerland. The 3rd and final DUE Permafrost User Workshop will be hosted by the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, AWI, in Potsdam, Germany. The DUE Permafrost monitoring service will be presented and applications discussed with the participants.
